Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is one of the worlds great cities. With grand baroque building to rival Paris, theatres and cinemas to rival London and restaurants, shops and bars to rival New York. But the atmosphere is uniquely Argentine. From the steak sizzling on your plate in a crowded parrilla to the tango being danced in the romantic milongas.

The city is filled with life and history. Marvelled at the government house, stroll around the cemetery in Recoleta where Evita is buried or discover Palermo Viejo with its charming cobbled streets full of bars and cafes. Or go an adventure in Sam Telmo, the oldest part of the city.

Buenos Aires is the thriving capital of Argentina. Its busy streets are filled with architecture and cafes whilst the constant warm sun makes it the perfect weather to explore on foot. The main street or avenue in Buenos Aires is very wide and is lined with shops and restuarants and is home to the Obelisco. This huge monument is visible from anywhere on this street and sits high at 67 metres.

Plaza de mayo is a beautiful area to visit. Here you will find  the Casa Rosada. This is the famous presidential palace. The courtyard infront of this building is filled with tourists and locals relaxing from the busy city life.

Recoleta Cemetry is filled with thousands of tombs. It contains the graves of notable people including presidents of Argentina and Noble Prize winners. Surrounded by a high wall, the architecture of some of the larger tombs are visible towering high above the wall. The cemetry itself is one of those unique places you have to visit to understand how incredible it really is.

Ushuaia

Ushuaia is the world's southernmost city and is located on the island of Tierra del Fuego at the tip of South America. The city is very small, but has a wonderful view of the famous Beagle Channel. Nearby attractions include Tierra del Fueho National Park.

Ushuaia is not only the gateway to Antarctica but also a stunning harbour town that is known as Worlds End. With local shops selling soveniers and warm clothing supplies and a port with passenger ships going to and from Antarctica regularly during the summer season.
