Raglan is one of the best places in New Zealand to surf. And i couldn't agree more. I had surf lessons here and was standing up like a pro almost instantly thanks to my incredible instructors. But even if water sports arent your thing, Raglan beaches are the perfect place to kick back and enjoy the sunshine and so many do.

Waitomo caves are famous for its glow worms. There are thousands of glow worms in these caves that glow a beautiful blue colour! - Stunning! The only thing you have to decide is how you want to explore the caves. I decided to abseil 100m into the cave that is known as 'The Lost World' and go on an adventure by climbing and scrambling over rocks as i searched for the best spot to sit back and enjoy the glow worms.

Mairo villages are available in Rotorua for you to visit in and learn about the traditional culture of New Zealand. This is such an interesting experience to meet with the local maori people and learn of their spiritual beliefs. You can also try a traditional Hangi meal that has been cooked underground. Yes, i did say underground! Due to the volcanic activity in New Zealand the earth is hot. The locals would prepare a meal and bury it. Eight hours later, they would dig it up and your meal is ready to eat. A natural oven!

Lake Taupo is the largest lake by surface area in all of New Zealand. With a surface area of 238 square mile, it can be mistaken for the ocean. Lake Taupo sits in the volcanic crater of the Taupo Volcano. Attracting over 2 million tourists a year, Lake Taupo is a magnificent site to add to your New Zealand check list!
