Copenhagen is a small city filled with popular shops and busy squares. However, with a short walk down the high Street you will find yourself at the beautiful area that is Nyhaven. With its colourful buildings and impressive boats along the canals, this is a beautiful area of Copenhagen to visit.


The Little Mermaid statue is the most famous and most photographed in all of Denmark. Many of you may know the story of The Little Mermaid as Disney based a film on this story. However, the original story ends a little differently. The mermaid never gained the love from the Prince and never married him. And so, as she had agreed with the sea witch, if she did not succeed she would be turned into, and forever live as, the foam on the waves. This is not the happily ever after we are used to hearing!


Rosenborg Castle was built by one of the most famous Scandinavian kings. Rosenborg Castle holds the Danish crown jewels, but if you don't manage to go to see them, the castle is surrounded by beautiful gardens for you to enjoy.


The Palace Courtyard is open to the public to freely walk round. You can see the palace guards within this courtyard and may even be lucky enough to see the Royal family!


St Albans, also known at The English Church, is a lively Christian church in the heart of Copenhagen. It was built for the fast growing English population in the city. The grounds of this church are simply stunning and attracts hundreds of tourists.
